Egypt’s Awqaf Department Launches Large‑Scale Ramadan Readiness Plan

The Awqaf Department in Egypt’s Qalyubiyah province has launched a comprehensive plan to prepare more than 7,500 mosques for Ramadan through cleaning, decoration, and organizing religious programs.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Awqaf Department in Egypt’s Qalyubiyah province has announced the decoration of mosques in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.

As Ramadan approaches, mosque officials in Qalyubiyah are preparing to welcome worshipers by implementing cleaning and decoration plans, according to Bawabeh Mevlana.

Following the instructions of the Egyptian Minister of Awqaf, the Qalyubiyah Awqaf Department has launched a comprehensive plan to improve mosque conditions and ensure their readiness for prayers, Taraweeh, Tahajjud, and I’tikaf.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Radwan, an official in the Qalyubiyah Awqaf Department, stated that arrangements have been made to receive worshipers in more than 7,500 mosques across the province.

He added that the cleaning campaign will be carried out in all mosques under the supervision of 15 sub‑departments.

Radwan noted that a comprehensive plan has been prepared, including cultural and religious gatherings during Ramadan, as well as various Quran recitation sessions.

According to the official, 152 special educational programs for children, 268 lectures, and 80 study circles are planned for the holy month.

He said 704 mosques have been designated for Tahajjud prayers and 255 for I’tikaf, adding that 16 Iftar banquets will also be held in different mosques.

The official further stated that 496 open spaces have been allocated for Eid al‑Fitr prayers at the end of Ramadan.
